The International Guitar Festival of Monterrey is a non-lucrative event that positioned trough time as one of the most important in Mexico.
Today, it holds great prestige and international recognition due to the renown of the guitarists that have appeared on it.
Since its creation, the IGF has favored the creation of new pieces for guitar, in such a way that in former editions pieces have been premiered.
The International Guitar Festival of Monterrey 2012 will take place from April 20th to 27th., and will be one of the greatest and most important guitar festivals held in Mexico and Latin America.
The IGF XIII Edition coincides with the 25 Anniversary of the death of the most influent character in the classic guitar of the XX century, master Andres Segovia. |
As usual, the IFG will present a series of academic and artistic activities in 8 days of celebration with grand performers and proffessors, such as Lukasz Kuropaczewski (Poland), Juan Carlos Laguna (Mexico), Martha Masters (United States), Duo Melisformed by Susana Prieto (Spain) and Alexis Muzuraki (Greece), Cecilio Pereira (Mexico), Carlos Perez (Chile), Berta Rojas (Paraguay) y Pablo Sainz (Spain).
Furthermore, the activity program includes concerts with young talents, courses, workshops, book presentations and conferences by know personalities such as Abel García, Eduardo garrido, Juan Helguera y Roberto Limón. A special event will be the conference 'Andrés Segovia, his life and grand love: the Guitar' by Corazón Otero.
